Finally, after all this time, Mr. P has returned to the world of the Honors Blog.
Sorry for my extended absence from posting. So we're a few pages in to To Kill a Mockingbird. What do you guys think about it so far? I was doing some reading up on Harper Lee and found this Wikipedia article:

Sounds similar to someone else in TKAM. Interesting...
Great discussions in both classes today! Remember that your short story final drafts are due tomorrow. Review your punctuation rules for dialogue and watch your spelling!
Your homework for tonight is to read Chapters 9 & 10 of TKAM and we'll discuss them tomorrow in class. See you then!

Sorry, it's past my emBEDding time.
Get it? At least I have a future as a stand-up comedian if teaching doesn't work out. Today we learned a little bit about how to punctuate dialogue and embed quotes. For those of you who were absent or are still struggling with embedding (it IS tricky at first), here are some helpful links to shed some light on your worksheet worries:

Remember the quote should not stand alone, (for example, Fortunato says, "blah blah blah," would not an embedded quote) but rather it should blend in with the sentence to where the person listening to you read the sentence has no clue where that quote is!
Tomorrow in class, we'll be reviewing for your exam on Thursday and taking pictures. Come dressed in your Sunday finest!
Finally, BRING YOUR CHANGE! I'm the nominee for faculty Homecoming King and I need your help to raise money for the United Way. Yes, I know this is shameless promotion, but it's for a fantastic cause! See you tomorrow!
